Snot

My house is one big blob of oozing snot. Was that TMI? It started with Tanner last tuesday, fever and runny nose. Then Morgan on Friday and Grace yesterday. The fever only lasts about 48 hours but we've gone through several boxes of Kleenexes in the last week and it still goes on. Yuck.
CJ was able to go to work a little late today and take Tanner to school so I wouldn't have to drage Grace and her fever out into the freezing cold. Yeah! Most kids are out of school today due to ice, us, not. They'll probably be calling at noon wanting us to come pick up the kids and I'm going to be mad.
For now I shall do laundry and piddle on Snapfish deciding which pictures to print and scrapbook next!
Have a safe and cozy day!

Yuck!

The boys are both sick. Tanner was home from school yesterday with a low-grade fever, snotty nose and cough. CJ wanted to keep him home today too but Tanner insisted on going. The fever is gone so he went. Morgan woke up at 3am with a fever too. I knew it was coming he was snotty and horse yesterday afternoon. Bummer. Grace is good for now. We'll see. She always gets it eventually.
Nothing else really going on. Just the norm. Enjoy the day - it's going to be almost 80 degrees here so I'm sure I will!

Christmas Morning

ROCKS! We actually got to sleep until almost 6am (which I was very thankful for! I remember trying to wake my parents up between 3 and 4 am some years). I was really proud of the kids too. They waited patiently for CJ and I to get up, pour a cup of coffee, and for me to take a couple of pics before diving into their stash!
Tanner with his giant remote controlled dune buggy...

Grace with one of her MANY new pink princess toys....

We let Morgan sleep until he woke up (about 8am) because he was feeling crummy with a cold the night before....

The Pit - after all the gifts were open (I had to get a shot before I started straightening up)...

Ridiculous huh? But oh what fun!

December 24th, 2008

For Chirstmas Eve we went to Brian and Beth's house. All the normal Christmas Eve fun was planned - junk food, Christmas cookies, games, and of course presents! We had an AWESOME time! Lots of junk food was eaten, we played with Brian's new Wii and Tanner stomped us all at bowling, and we opened a mountain of presents. The Christmas sugar cookies did not get baked but really nobody missed them.
Grammy Jan and Papa Dave dishing out the goods...
Morgan has his OWN dump truck now - that means he and Tanner shouldn't fight about the truck any more, right?
Brian and Beth...
We left about 8:00pm and went home to open Christmas jammies and ornaments, and put out reindeer food before bed. The excitement is building....

Saturday December 20th, 2008

Dave and Jan are here with us for a couple of days and we decided to go to the park in Granbury to see the lights (It is a beautiful 70 degrees today and supposed to be a whopping 35 tomorrow so today is definitely the day). Got the kids dressed and waited for CJ to get home which was like 7:00pm. Yuck! The kids are starving but we're going out to eat at Babe's. Anyone ever been to Babe's? It's a chicken joint. You pick from 7 meat entrees they offer and then they bring salad, rolls, and sides to your table "family style" and you serve yourself. GOOD GOOD home-cookin' food and totally fun for the kids. It's a little louder than CJ likes a restaurant to be but they have music playing and the waitresses sing and dance, and they encourage the guests to join them. They do things like the YMCA, the Hokey Pokey, the Boot Scoot Boogey, the Electric Slide, you get it. The first time we were there our waitress sang, and she had a wonderful voice, and she came to our table and serenaded (sp?) Tanner. It was SO cute.

Anyway, after dinner we went to the park. This park is just north of the town square and is just gorgeous. They wrap EVERY tree and fence post in lights or garland and they have hundreds of lighted stand up things (you'll get the picture in a minute). Speaking of picture I tried like 5 different settings on my camera and none of the pictures came out without the lights being blurry. I know that night pictures take a steady hand and apparently I didn't have one that night. Bummer but you'll get the jest of it - enjoy....

Yes, this one says "HO HO Y'ALL!" I just couldn't resist. I love Texas :=)

Tuesday December 16th, 2008

I'll have to backdate everything so I can remember :-) Sorry if some of this is boring, but I use this blog not only to keep friends and family up to date with our lives but also as a scrapbooking diary of sorts. So maybe in a couple of years when I can put these pictures on pages I'll have some recollection of what happened -ha!

Anyway, on this day we trekked to Ridgemar Mall to watch Lily's Christmas dance recital. We made sure to go early so we could talk to Santa. Got to the mall at 4:55, wondered in, waited for the boys to potty, went to see Santa and he goes on break from 5:00-5:45 - WHAT?! If I had only known I could have gotten in line while the boys were in the bathroom. We literally missed him by like a minute. As a matter of fact on CJ's phone it was only 4:58pm but they already had the sign up. Ugh!!!! Lily's recital starts at 6:00, maybe we'll go afterward. While we're waiting we'll go upstairs and get some dinner...

Did you know at Ridgemar Mall they have a row of miniature tables and chairs for kids? They are too cute and the kids had a blast.

Lily's dance recital was awesome as usual. She has been in dance I think for 3 years now and she loves it. I was taking pics from a distance so with the camera on the appropriate setting you must have a steady hand and a still image, neither of which were happening, thus the blurriness.

THURSDAY DECEMBER 18th, 2008

School Christmas parties for Tanner and Grace. Just yesterday my df Shaunery gave us a bag of clothes for Grace (yeah us!) and Grace totally fell in love with one of the dresses. Insisted on wearing it to her school party the next day which required a trip to Walmart at 7:30am to get a pair of shoes. But isn't she cute? Thanks Shaun!

Notice Morgan in the background? I was getting Grace ready to take her pic and little did I notice that Morgan had gone over and stood against the wall and was slowly creeping toward Grace to get in the pic. Made me laugh!

Next was Tanner's class party. Grammy Jan and Papa Dave were able to come down and join us for it. They had 2 or 3 craft projects, snacks, and goodie bags. Tanner had a blast and was so happy that we were all there.

This is how I kept Morgan occupied and seated in the stroller for 40 minutes....

Is that wrong?

It is very sad...

that my df Diana had to call me yesterday to find out if I was OK becuase it has been so long since I blogged. Sorry. To everyone.
I really do have lots to share it's just finding the time to upload and edit the photos that go with the info that I have not yet done. I'm going to do it this week. I promise.
CJ's mom and dad were here for almost three weeks and we had a wonderful time. Christmas and New Year's were an enormous amount of fun. Stay tuned for pics and more info...
